in Adopted Shibas

UPDATE: Sandy’s foster family has decided to adopt her! Sandy is a 5 yr old spayed female Shiba/Basenji Mix. Her owner died this past week and she has been looking for him ever since. I went to visit her yesterday and she is very timid and confused as there are many people she does not know in her home. Her owner rescued her after she was found along side of the road with a litter of pups. She was his world and he hers. Right now a neighbor is caring for her and gave us a little time to find her a new forever home. Her shots were just pdated recently updated in April and she is current on her Flea protection and HW prevention. The neighbor told me and I actually witness this first hand that she walks along side her owner without a leash although when the neighbor has walked her he takes the leash just in case. She listens very well and will adapt very quickly to a new home. She is approximately 30 lbs and is a bit chunky! She is house broken and leash trained. The owner did not have any other animals so we do not know how she is with them except for the ones she sees on her walks. She also has not been living with children. Please think about adopting this sweet girl! She will make someone or a couple a great companion!

She is precious! We just lost our husky, Hogan, to cancer last week after 13 1/2 wonderful years with him. I’m looking to adopt again sooner than later as my husband has taken our loss very hard. We don’t have children and it is just too quiet…no tags jingling, no nail steps on the tile…awful! We just renovated our kitchen and designed the entire back wall around a doggie door built in, but no pup to use it now 🙁 Please let me know when you have a pup for adoption in Volucia area or if Sandy is still without a home! Thanks!
