UPDATE: Thanks to Keli, Chelsea’s foster mom for deciding to give Chelsea the perfect forever home! Another one of the puppy mill dogs is Chelsea, a 7 yr old Black and Tan that is super friendly and would love for you to take her home and spoil her rotten! She is now walking well on the leash which she was never really walked before this s! She is house-trained and crate-trained but would prefer to be out and about in the house around people as she was kept in the crate outside with all the other dogs at the mill. Chelsea is up to date on all her vaccinations and is Heart-worm negative! She weighs in at 18 lbs. She is not good with other dogs or cats. Chelsea is good with kids of all ages. Please email us at apply@shibainurescueflorida.org for an application! Chelsea is located in Tampa.

I have a 12 year old cinnamon male shiba inu. We had to put our mix breed female down and our Niki seems lonely by himself all day and are possibly interested in adopting Chelsea.

I live in Michigan and would have to make a trip down to see Chelsea. In addition, unless I rented a car (which I probably would have to do), I would need time to spend with her, as personalities are most important. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment, am a 77 year old senior, who really needs a dog companion. What would the cost of adoption and approximate yearly upkeep for a dog like her? Am I looking for the wrong dog or what? She would be spending lots of time indoors in the winter especially. Appreciate your help in this. Joanne Wolf

Yeah, Chelsea! You have your forever home. The last of the puppy mill dogs. It makes me happy to know that all of Dolly’s cellmates have found homes and will find the love and caring that they so deserve.

We are in Sarasota. Just lost our Schipperke, a rescue, after 19 years. Exploring other breeds. Is this dog still available? If it is, why have the other inquiries been unsuccessful.
