Meet Koji, weighing 24 lbs, and Eiji, at 27 lbs. Both were discovered abandoned, roaming the streets before being collected by Animal Control. Believed to be approximately 2.5 years old, they are now neutered, microchipped, and fully updated on their vaccinations and heartworm prevention. Since their rescue by SIRF, they’ve made significant progress in learning to trust and bond. They could still benefit from assistance with leash training and basic commands. Koji tends to be shy and may hide, while Eiji is slightly more confident and sociable, having mastered commands like “sit” and “down.” They are generally comfortable around calmer dogs but can be fearful of more boisterous ones during walks. Their behavior around babies, toddlers, and young children remains unknown. Both are shy and require support to gain confidence. Eiji has a tendency to chase cats, though not aggressively. Their foster caregiver has witnessed remarkable improvements and believes they will continue to flourish with patient and loving care. She is fond of them but cannot adopt due to having another Shiba and a job that entails frequent travel. They are available for foster to adoption either together or individually.
