in Adopted Shibas

UPDATE: Milou has found a new home with Eric in Lakeland! Thanks ERIC! Milou is a pup with a LOT of energy and loves to play hard with other dogs and children. She is 10 months old and is red in color! She is spayed, weighs about 22 lbs. and totally house trained and crate trained. Milou loves to go on walks and is leash trained although she needs practice to be more lady like! We are looking for a home for her that does not have young children as she is a bit too rough for them. She also will need to have a home without cats. She has been to puppy class and is very smart but tends to test anyone that will allow it(not a Shiba trait at all 🙂 ) She is located in the Tampa. She currently is undergoing a behavior evaluation. She should be up for adoption soon. Please contact us at apply@shibainurescueflorida.org for an application.

The owner stated that she likes to chase them and is too rough with them.

Recently rescued a part Shiba Inu/mix about 2 yrs old, she could use a friend to teach her how to play. No cats, No children, fenced in yard.
Live about 60 miles away, on west coast.

Hello, I’ve been looking to adobt a Shiba Inu for a very long time now. I’m in love with the breed, and I really want to adobt a rescue rather than buy from a breeder. I live alone with a roommate who also loves dogs, no other pets or children and a big fenced in backyard she can play freely in. Is it possible to learn more about Milou or know when it might be possible to meet her? Thanks.

My husband and I are interested also in adopting Milou and we love shibas! We live in northTampa. We have a 7 month year old male Shiba right now that looks just like her. We had a 14 1/2 year old black and tan female we had to put down in January, broke our hearts. Zander, our Shiba is neutured and current on all shots. We have no other pets, children or cats. My husband and I are interested in her if she is still available. We have a large fenced backyard. We had a 12 1/2 year old pomerainian Zander got along great with, but he also had to be put down last week. This is the first time we have only had one dog. We miss both of them dearly, but now want to get Zander a playmate. Is she still available? We bought him from a puppy store and I just want to rescue one this time! Thanks! Colleen & Aaron Akers

My family is interested in adopting Milou. We have two boys ages 11 and 13 and currently own a 7 year-old golden retriever mix who gets along with all other dogs and would like a new brother/sister. We walk our dog a minimum of two times a day and regularly take him on road trips to hiking trails and the dog beach at Fort de Soto. Milou would definitely feel loved and treated like an additional child in our household. We live just southeast of Brandon, FL, so we are close by. Thank you for your consideration.

Hi we have a Five year old Shiba who is very lonely. We love his crazy personality and would love to find him a companion. I think they might like each other. We don’t have any young children. We take our little man every where we can. She might wake him up. Looking for new family member

Hello, I’m interested in adopting Milou. In my household, the youngest is 12, turning 13 soon, and the oldest is 22, {he and his brother are in college so we don’t see very much of them} I have another dog, Binky, who is a mini pinscher. My youngest loves walking outside, and doesn’t mind{except on t he few occasions} walking the dog whenever they need to be walked. She likes to view herself as the ‘caretaker’ and the most responsible and always makes sure that her dog Binky is walked, and fed, and is in good health. Would this be an ideal household that Milou would be happy in?

Thanks for your interest although Milou would not be a fit for your home due to the age of your youngest Child. She is coming from a situation where she had issues with young children. Also we do not adopt out unaltered animals as one of the rescue’s missions is to help control the pet population. Thanks again!
